Is it possible to download viruses from IA if you WANT to ?

Has anyone considered this feature for the way back machine??

How will my children experience the "Anna Kournikova loves you" virus without someone like IA safekeeping it for them.
Who will teach them blessings for happiness in broken Chinease-English if you don't?????

Please Brad assign one of your crack techs to this needed archival task.

Good question! Though I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised if a few viruses have been archived along with the rest of the web. IIRC I have successfully downloaded .exe files from the old versions of etree.org, and nastier .exe files might be at nastier sites. Therefore I'd use the same care in visiting the Wayback web as I would to visit the real-time web!

Haha, it is indeed an interesting comment! I imagine that companies like McAfee and Symantec have means of archiving viruses (it's in their best interests to do so). Maybe someday you'll see a section for them here where you can download and enjoy them at your leisure. :P

I used to have a neighbor who was quite the 'tweaker'. He knew a site where he could download any virus. He would do this and spend his 'free time' trying to fix the computer on his own without any anti-virus software.....kinda scary..
